The Board

David Scott PhD
Co Founder and Director of Cambridge Medical Innovations. David Scott, Ph.D., currently serves on the Board of Inverness Medical Innovations holding the position of Chief Scientific Officer.  From July 1999 to November 2001, Dr. Scott served as Chairman of Inverness Medical Limited, a subsidiary of Inverness Medical Technology that was acquired by Johnson & Johnson.  Previously, Dr. Scott was Managing Director of Inverness Medical Limited and he also served from October 1993 to April 1995 as Managing Director of a consulting company, Great Alarm Limited.  Between October 1984 and September 1993, he held several positions at MediSense UK, serving most recently as Managing Director where he was responsible for managing product development, as well as the mass manufacture of one of its principle products, ExacTech.

Matthew Cooper PhD, FRSM
Founder and Managing Director of Cambridge Medical Innovations. Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Akubio.  1993 Australian Mind of the Year Finalist, 1995 George Murray Scholar at Cambridge University, 1999 Centennial Howard Florey Fellow, 2005 UK Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.  Consulted widely for biosensor, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the UK, Europe and the US.  Review panel member for BBSRC, EPSRC, US NIH, US NIAID and Science Foundation Ireland.  Several patents issued and pending with more than 60 peer reviewed papers in journals including Nature Cell Biology, Nature Biotechnology and Nature Drug Discovery. 

Geoffrey Couling
Company Secretary for Cambridge Medical Innovations. A Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, and a practicing Solicitor in England and Wales. Geoffrey was born and educated in NZ before moving to England, where he practiced law in the public sector and in private practice before starting work in house for the Inverness Medical Group over 3 years ago.
